Step 1: Insert the USB
- Turn off your computer.
- Insert the Windows 11 bootable USB into a USB port.
Step 2: Turn on the PC and open the Boot Menu
Turn on the computer and immediately press the boot menu key repeatedly.
Common Boot Menu keys:

If you're unsure of your PC brand, try F12, Esc, or F11.
Step 3: Select the USB drive
Choose your USB flash drive from the Boot Menu.
Press Enter.
The Windows Setup screen will load.
Step 4: Choose language
Select:
- Language
- Time and currency format
- Keyboard layout
Click Next.
Click Install Now.
Step 5: Product key
If prompted:
- Enter your Windows 11 Home product key.
Or
- Click I don't have a product key if you'll activate Windows later.
Step 6: Choose Windows edition
Select:
Windows 11 Home
Click Next.
Accept the license agreement.
Click Next.
Step 7: Choose installation type
Select:
Custom: Install Windows only (Advanced)
Do not choose Upgrade unless you're reinstalling over an existing Windows installation.
Step 8: Select the drive
You'll see your storage drive(s).
For a clean installation (erases everything)
Delete the existing Windows partitions until you have Unallocated Space.
Select the unallocated space.
Click Next.
Windows Setup will create the required partitions automatically.
Warning: Deleting partitions permanently removes the data on them.
Step 9: Wait for installation
Windows will:
- Copy files
- Install features
- Install updates
- Restart several times
Don't remove the USB until Windows tells you to, or until the system restarts into the setup process.
Step 10: Initial setup
Follow the prompts to:
- Select your country and keyboard layout.
- Connect to Wi-Fi (optional during setup, depending on your edition and setup path).
- Sign in with a Microsoft account or use another available setup option.
- Choose privacy settings.
- Name your PC if prompted.
Step 11: Desktop
After setup finishes, Windows 11 Home will load to the desktop.
Step 12: Install drivers
If some hardware isn't working correctly:
- Open Settings → Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates.
- Install any available updates and optional driver updates.
If necessary, download drivers from your PC or motherboard manufacturer's support website.
Optional: Set the USB as the first boot device in BIOS
If your computer won't boot from the USB automatically:
- Restart the computer.
- Press the BIOS key (usually F2 or Delete).
- Open the Boot tab.
- Move the USB drive to the top of the boot order.
- Save changes by pressing F10 (on many systems).
- Confirm with Yes.
- The PC will restart and boot from the USB.
Troubleshooting
- USB doesn't appear in the Boot Menu: Try a different USB port (preferably a USB 2.0 port if available) or recreate the bootable USB.
- "This PC can't run Windows 11": Check that TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, and UEFI mode are enabled in the BIOS if your hardware supports them.
- No drives are shown during setup: Your storage controller may require a driver (common on some newer systems). Download the appropriate storage driver from your computer or motherboard manufacturer's website and load it during setup if needed.
